How to Apply

As an OoS Intern, you’d be a change maker, empowered by being surrounded by likeminded people who value inclusion, solution-oriented thinking, community, and the Planet and its inhabitants.  The OoS offers a supportive and engaging work environment to help team members reach their greatest potential.  The Office is dynamic and fosters open dialogue, creative problem solving, and action-oriented solutions, meaning you would learn how to apply sustainability in all spheres through interactive, hands-on opportunities.  Professional development workshops are also an integral part of the OoS Internship Program.

The Office of Sustainability hires students from all types of academic and personal backgrounds. As we strive to build a holistic and unique working environment, we strongly encourage students from all majors to apply. In the past we have worked with students from both the natural and social sciences, and the humanities. We believe that fostering a diverse internship program is the key to developing solutions to problems on campus while building a strong community atmosphere.

The Office searches for self-starting individuals with an ability to brainstorm creative solutions to challenges facing our community. While experience in sustainability is a plus, this is not a requirement for an internship position. We hire both undergraduate and graduate students at the College of Charleston for the spring, summer, and fall semesters, while also accepting applications from other campuses for the summer internship program.

Check out our website ( to learn more!  View the Office’s brochure here.

The Office is centrally located at 14 Green Way, next to the Sottile House and across the street from Addlestone Library.

All majors, minors, and identities are encouraged to apply.

The application for Spring 2019 has closed. If you are interested in an future internship at the office, refer to the position descriptions below. The Office will be accepting applications for Summer Interns in late Spring. Check back for details.
